There are many ways to get involved with Creative Activities and VSA Washington. Here is information about current opportunities:
ArtSpring! Planning Committee
This year-round committee of volunteers work with CA/VSA Washington staff to plan and manage all aspects of ArtSpring!, our Annual Arts Celebration. This working committee meets monthly (more often as the event approaches) and shapes the annual theme; publicity; decorations; entertainment; performances; exhibits; workshops; hands-on, interactive arts experiences (art booths); and everything else to make this an event to remember for all who participate.
Seattle Center Artist Studio Assistant
Volunteer in the Seattle Center Artist Studio! Volunteers assist with the day-to-day operations of the studio located at the Center House on the Seattle Center Campus. Activities include assisting visitors with one-time art projects, working with artists with disabilities (help with art projects, applying for exhibits and performances, framing, pricing and marketing their work, and creating portfolios), and ensuring everyone is working in a safe, clean and well-stocked studio. Volunteers are asked to commit to 2 to 4 hours a week for at least 10 weeks.
Exhibits & Performances Assistant
This is a project-based volunteer opportunity. Volunteers work with the Program Director to prepare and manage the various exhibits and performances CA/VSA Washington host each year. Activities may include receiving, cataloging, photographing, framing and hanging/presenting artwork; making arrangements for performers; working with the venue for the exhibit and/or performance; and assisting with publicity and marketing.
Board of Directors
CA/VSA Washingon are in the process of expanding its Board of Directors and are seeking qualified candidates. We are looking for people with a passion to create a culture of inclusion where artists and patrons of all ages with disabilities have seamless access to education, opportunity, commerce and community. Of special interest are people with disabilities and/or past Board, legal, financial, fundraising and/or marketing experience.
