Creative Activities and VSA Washington are pleased to present ArtSpring!, our Annual Inclusive Arts Festival, at Seattle Center House May 4th and 5th, 2010. This two-day Festival offers unique, inclusive arts opportunities for youth, adults, and families in a variety of free activities and performances. Come and be part of the 36th annual inclusive arts festival!
Save the Date postcards, announcing this year’s theme and dates have been mailed to all Puget Sound area schools – and the Registration Form is now available for download: ArtSpring10Reg. Completed Registration forms may be emailed to artspring@vsaaw.org or mailed to the Main Office (see form for address.)
The mornings of each day are dedicated to students from classrooms all over Puget Sound. This year’s theme, Pigments of Your Imagination, encourages students to imagine their own world, populated by people and animals of their own creation, and built from color, texture, sound, and movement. Arts Stations will fill Fisher Pavilion with hands-on, make it – take it, accessible arts experiences; performing arts workshops in theatre, music, and dance will be offered in the Center House, along with lunchtime stage performances. [Educators can download the ArtSpring10Reg.]
On Tuesday May 4th, the day’s activities continue into the afternoon, with Center House Main Stage performances by and for youth – and then into the evening with free, family-friendly entertainment and unique arts experiences. Stay tuned for the upcoming announcement of a wonderful line-up of talent! This year’s evening Visual Arts Exhibit will feature a tribute to Ida Flagler Daly, a pioneer in the accessibility movement, an early innovator of adaptable equipment, and founder of Creative Activities.
