</strong>The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is looking for artists to show in two local galleries: The Gallery at Towne Centre in Lake Forest Park and Shoreline City Hall Gallery.<span id="more-2359"></span></p>
<p>Artists are invited to submit a letter of interest, <a id="GVLINK_1_0_0" href="#">resume</a>, artist&#8217;s statement, 10-15 images on digital media that reflect a cohesive body of work, an image list with title, medium, size and price and a Self Addresses Stamped Envelope for return of materials.  Please specify if you are interested in showing at either location or both.</p>
<p>All work shown in The Gallery and Shoreline City Hall Gallery original and for sale.  The Gallery at Towne <a id="GVLINK_2_0_1" href="#">Centre</a> features six week, three person exhibits with each artist showing approximately 12 pieces.   A 40% commission will be taken on all sales at The Gallery.  The Gallery is located inside, on the lower level of the Lake Forest Park Towne Centre at 17171 Bothell Way NE.</p>
<p>Shoreline City Hall, located at 175th and Midvale Ave N, features three floors of exhibit space in a modern setting.  Works must be 16&#8243; x 20&#8243; or larger in size.  Shows are up for three months with approximately 10-15 pieces per artist.  A 30% commission will be taken on all sales.</p>

The Boathouse Gallery is pleased to announce a call to Artists + Curators for solo shows and curated exhibits for semi-annual shows at The Center for Wooden Boats [CWB] in Seattle.</p>
<p>The mission of The Center for Wooden Boats is to provide a gathering place where maritime history comes alive through direct experience and our small craft heritage is enjoyed, preserved and passed along to future generations.</p>
<p>The Boathouse Gallery is dedicated to exhibiting art and history that relate to, complement, or challenge this mission through subject, media or craft.  Artists + Curators with interest in water or waterways, craft or craftsmanship, in the real or the abstract are encouraged to apply.</p>
<p>For each exhibit, the artist or curator will participate in CWB’s 3rd Friday Speaker Series as part of the opening festivities, sharing their inspiration, process and insights into the show with the public.</p>
<p>The exhibition space is located on the first floor of CWB’s boathouse on Lake Union in Seattle.  The Gallery is a shared multipurpose space open to students, visitors and volunteers.  This space is appropriate for 2D work and wall-hanging sculpture.  Prospective applicants are advised to visit the space prior to <a id="GVLINK_1_0_0" href="#">application</a>.  CWB will provide exhibitions space, hang the show, hold an opening and publicize the show on the CWB website and through an electronic newsletter to members.  The artist or curator is responsible for additional publicity, sales, insurance (if desired), participation in the 3rd Friday Speaker Series and transportation of work to and from the gallery.  Work must be ready to hang. CWB will not be responsible for theft, damage or loss.</p>
<p><strong>TO APPLY</strong> please submit the following:</p>
<ul>
<li>Completed coversheet</li>
<li>Exhibit Title + Description (maximum one page)</li>
<li>CD of 8-12 images of work you propose to show (see image requirements)</li>
<li>Image Description sheet that includes: Title, Year, Medium, and Dimensions</li>
<li><a id="GVLINK_2_0_1" href="#">Resume</a>, artist/curator statement or bio (maximum one page)</li>
<li>$15 Application fee.  Make check out to The Center for Wooden Boats.</li>
<li>Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>IMAGE REQUIREMENTS</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Images must be digital, 300 dpi, no greater than 1028 pixels in longest dimension</li>
<li>Each image must be a ‘jpeg’</li>
<li>Each file should not exceed 5MB</li>
<li>Label your files with your first initial last name_image number.  For example, Jane Smith’s image files would be: JSmith_01.jpg, JSmith_02.jpg, etc.</li>
<li>Number the image file names in the order you would like them viewed</li>
<li>Make sure these numbers correspond with your Image Description Sheet</li>
<li>Put only the images you are submitting for the application on the CD</li>
<li>CDs will not be returned.</li>
</ul>

The Architectural Heritage Center announces a juried art exhibit November 5 — December 31, 2010, titled Fostering Harmony: The Symbiotic Relationship of <a id="GVLINK_2_0_1" href="#">Architecture</a> and Nature. The AHC is looking for professional artists from Oregon and Washington to submit their artistic interpretations of the exhibit&#8217;s theme— The Symbiotic Relationship of Architecture and Nature.  Emphasis is on 2D art, with 3D art selected based on limited exhibition space.  There is a $5 entry fee for each piece of artwork submitted (up to 3 submissions).</p>

<p><strong>The Center on Contemporary Art</strong> <strong>(CoCA)</strong> hosts its unique art-making spectacle Oct. 1 and 2, featuring 24 visual artists working together in the same space (this time in Pioneer Square in <strong>CoCA&#8217;s </strong>newest location) for 24 straight hours followed by an auction.</p>
<p>Marathon begins 9 am Oct. 1; ends Oct. 2 at 9 am.  Auction begins at 5pm Oct. 2, all in <strong>CoCA&#8217;s</strong> newest space in Pioneer Square, 1st &amp; Main, Globe Building (old Elliott Bay Bookstore).  <strong>CoCA</strong> provides basic equipment, meals, 1 yr. membership, and catalog for participating artists, who agree to create a minimum of 4 pieces in the 24 hour period.  Auction split is 50/50.</p>

<p>They only have two rules:<br />

<strong>Second,</strong> the sketchbook must stay within its original dimensions. </p>
<p>Each book will be given a barcode so it can be easily cataloged  into The Brooklyn Art Library System.  Once it is cataloged, the artists will be able to track where on the tour their book is viewed and how many times someone pulled it from the shelf.  You sign up, pick your theme, and they will send you the sketchbook! Fill it up and send it back and they will take it on tour to Brooklyn, Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, Austin, Portland, ME, and more! </p>

<p>This is a temporary, part-time position.  The employee performs a variety of duties related to box office accounting/ticket sales, special event administration and activity planning, volunteer training, scheduling and supervision of cultural arts and special event recreational programs.</p>
<p>Position requires flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.  Must be available to work all scheduled evenings and weekend program events, plus some weekday hours.  Schedule is set one month to six weeks in advance, based on need and/or program schedules.<br />

</strong>First <a id="GVLINK_3_0_2" href="#">Prize</a>: $1000 and winning entry published in Winter/Spring 2011 issue.  Final Judge is Jane Hirshfield.</p>
<p><strong>1.</strong> For each submission, send up to three poems.<br />
<strong>2.</strong> A $15 reading fee (check or money order) payable to <strong>Sycamore Review</strong> must accompany each submission.  The reading fee includes a copy of the prize issue.<br />
<strong>3.</strong> Additional poems (beyond the initial three) may be included.  Increase the reading fee $5 for each additional poem.<br />
<strong>4.</strong> Simultaneous submissions are acceptable only if <strong>Sycamore Review</strong> is notified immediately upon acceptance elsewhere.<br />
<strong>5.</strong> All entries must be typed and must include a cover letter with the author’s name and contact information (mailing address, telephone number, and <a id="GVLINK_2_0_1" href="#">email address</a>) as well as the titles of all poems submitted.  Information that identifies the author should NOT appear on the manuscript itself.<br />
<strong>6.</strong> Manuscript pages should be numbered and should include the title of the piece.<br />
<strong>7.</strong> Please include a self-addressed, stamped postcard if you wish to be notified upon receipt of your manuscript.<br />
<strong>8.</strong> Manuscripts will not be returned.  Winners will be announced by Dec. 30, 2010.  For information on winners and runners-up, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with entry.<br />
<strong>9.</strong> All contest submissions will be considered for regular inclusion in Sycamore Review.<br />
<strong>10.</strong> All poems must be previously unpublished.</p>
