The City of Seattle is seeking volunteers to serve on the newly formed Seattle Commission for People with Disabilities. Monday, 15th February 2010 at 5:07pmCreative Activities and VSA Washington are pleased to present ArtSpring!, our Annual Inclusive Arts Festival, at Seattle Center House May 4th and 5th, 2010. This two-day Festival offers unique, inclusive arts opportunities for youth, adults, and families in a variety of free activities and performances. Come and be part of the 36th annual inclusive arts festival!

Award Winners Announced
1 Comment Thursday, 3rd December 2009 at 1:18amCreative Activities and VSA arts of WA celebrated the winning artists in the 2009/10 No Boundaries Exhibit, “Transcendence” at a Reception and Awards Ceremony at the Harrison Street Gallery in the Seattle Center House, on Thursday, November 19th. Guests included two of the judges and many of the artists and their families.
Good food and soft classical music set a background for viewing the amazing entries in this year’s show, hanging in the Center House’s Harrison Street Gallery until November 23rd, before moving on to another venue on Capitol Hill in Seattle. This juried show produced 4 award winners and 3 honorable mentions. Works in several different visual arts media were showcased.

The Puget Sound Buddy Walk was held on Sunday October 4, 2009. Buddy Walk takes place at the Seattle Center with activities located on the Fisher Pavilion. VSA arts of WA has participated in Buddy Walk for a number of years; their mission to increase awareness and highlight the abilities of everyone, provides a wonderful opportunity for our organization to host an arts activity booth. ArtSpring!09
On May 5th and 6th, 2009, the Seattle Center House and Fisher Pavilion were alive with inclusive art and arts performances! Over 500 students and teachers created and experienced accessible art at Art Stations and Workshops during the school day; and over 1000 members of the general public joined us for MainStage shows over the 2-day festival. This year’s workshops included performances by the inclusive cast of a recent production of “Beauty and the Beast” by students from Madrona Children’s Theatre. Read More
